These pictures were made when I first arrived in the Netherlands, after living several years in Bulgaria.
I had a temporary studio: an enclosed porch with a single table.
These works are linked strongly to my life in Bulgaria. I was holding onto the village, the shepherds, garden parties, music, mountains and the monasteries.
Images, experiences and stories remained full and alive for me.
The new world I entered into, was so different.
